O Especial de 2 horas de duração está previsto para ser exibido na véspera do Ano Novo (31/12/2013 às 23hs) e será um resumo da série de TV contendo cenas inéditas tendo a participação do próprio autor, Reki Kawahara, em sua produção.
Na história, Yui quer ver uma baleia com Kirito que embarca em uma missão submarina no mundo da Alfheim Online. No entanto, ele fica chocado ao descobrir que Leafa não sabe nadar. Asuna e as outras garotas acreditam que ensinando Sugeha em uma piscina do mundo real vai ajudar o seu personagem em ALO. Enquanto isso, ao mesmo tempo, Kirito conhece um certo alguém.
